so I’m sharing my story, the good, the bad, the things I’ve learnt and seen. This blog will be a space to be real and honest and vulnerable and I hope you will feel the same. It won’t be an advise column or a fix it manual but it will be the story of how a girl with the grace and goodness and faithfulness of God is doing this thing called life. I believe that God’s purposes for you and me are GOOD and there’s no way I could tell my story without including Him as the Author. But even if you don’t have a relationship with God can I ask that you don’t stop reading? I feel that there maybe something here that may encourage you too. Is this blog really for you? Yes it is! Because I am writing this with you in mind, my dear friend and I hope you receive it as a gift from a friend.

A lot’s been going on in my life that’s been hard to process. And most of it has been a struggle between being forced to do a job in finance, and pursuing music. In some sense, this struggle has broken me many times. Perhaps the biggest wake up call was a breakup that happened last year in June. It really changed my perspective on everything. I learnt that suppressing what you want, and trying to please others only leads to you losing everything.

identity: the distinguishing character or personality of a person.

much like the changing of leaves in the fall, i believe that a person’s identity is the same. the tree trunk is a foundation – planted as a young seed or sapling – growing and maturing as the years pass, but never really changing or disappearing. each year, leaves grow, flourish, change color, fall, and bud to start again.

there are some titles and qualities that are innate and unwavering from the day we are born. there are others that are molded by the experiences & people & choices we make throughout our lives. some stay forever, some come and go.

the journey to becoming who i am today has been full of twists and turns, peaks and valleys, good and bad decisions, impulse, planning, spontaneity, peer pressure.
