My name is Mallory, and I’m a third year nursing student in the faculty of community services. I’ve previously had nursing internships at the Scarborough Health Network, Mount Sinai Hospital, the Markham Stouffville Hospital, and most recently, the March of Dimes, which is a charity for people with physical disabilities. I haven’t yet decided which area of nursing I want to go into, but so far I’m quite interested in public health. I also hope to study abroad in Taiwan in the future, to improve my Chinese. If you ever see me on campus, my favourite study spot is the second floor of the SLC – I think it’s a hidden gem!

I wasn’t expecting them anyway so no skin off my back

I expect things like food, and clothing, and a place to live, and I’ve always had these things. Maybe that’s why I expect them, but they’re not promised to me. They’re not promised to anyone, but they are where the line pretty much stops with me and expectations. I hope for things, but I don’t get myself twisted up over them.

Life with me is never boring and that is something that I love about myself

this semester I want to get comfortable with being bored. with relaxing with myself, and not being scared of missing out on other things. with finding contentment in doing nothing. and especially, with getting better at finding joy in little parts of my day, and finding hobbies and spending time with the people I love. this doesn’t mean I’m going to lose the exciting, fun-loving side of my personality, it just means that its going to grow because I’m going to find joy in every day life, and not sit around waiting for something “BiG” to happen.

For some background, I’m a 17 year old hunter/eq rider from New England—I work at my barn, cleaning, riding, grooming, all of that fun stuff. I am also a junior in high school, currently studying for my midterm exams (Calculus is kicking my ass) and procrastinating like nobody knows!
